Since 2007, we have enriched the lives of many incarcerated Oregonians through our various arts and dialogue programs. We are seen as an important ally and positive change agent in a system that needs to better support the incarcerated while they serve their sentences, as well as when they leave and begin life on the outside. Because of this work, along with other societal changes, we are slowly seeing shifts in public perceptions of returning citizens as they use their skills and adaptability to be more productive and valued by the broader Oregon community.
